| hello!
My research field is the localization of ultrasonic source which generates from electrical sparks(partial dishcarge) in the insulation of generator stator winding. but not going to digital signal processing part deeply.
I will develope the ultrasonic sensors parts and piezoelectronic materials using in that sensor.
In my project the emitting ultrasonic wave is non stationary and having nanopulse width so by using wavelet analysis, different pitches of the ultrasonc can be senses. By knowing of different arrival times of these similar pitches. we can know the location of the sources.
I think these our 2 project have generally the same meaning.
Let me know what type of sound you will localize. I have a little knowledge in DSP.
As per my experience, i would like to advise you should consider the filter part 1st(infra range,audible, auscotic or ultra etc), and then how can process to separate differents sound pitchs coming from the same source. to know that case , the processing part wiill know the pattern recognation of sond from the same sources.

I think for MEwave, AOA method must also be used like in Ultrasonic.
Angle on Arrival means that Angle and arriving time will be consider in localization of the source.
I will continue my discusion and my results here!
